Saint Lucy

In Sukošan, it has been a tradition since ancient times for St Lucia to deliver Christmas gifts to children on December 13th. These modest gifts—a few dried figs, almonds, pieces of mandulat, and some candies - were supposedly left by St Lucia under the children's pillows overnight (typically in a sock). Though modest and simple, these gifts have brought joy to children.
In an effort to preserve this tradition, a small Christmas fair and a St Lucia celebration with an appropriate programme are organised on that day.
