FOLKLORE EVENINGS

Croatia’s folkloric heritage is a treasure of immeasurable value. Each region of our beautiful country holds a rich tapestry of customs, dances, songs, and traditional attire. We take pride in this heritage and are committed to preserving and showcasing it for future generations. The Municipality of Sukošan is home to two cultural and artistic associations:
Zlatna Luka – Sukošan and Sveti Ivan Krstitelj – Gorica.
A glimpse of this rich heritage can be experienced at traditional folklore evenings in Sukošan and Gorica, where, alongside local performances, you can also enjoy the vibrant folklore traditions of Slavonia, Prigorje, and other regions of our beautiful country.

EVENINGS WITH KLAPE VOCAL GROUPS

"Pismo mora kamena i škoja, Dalmatinska lipa pismo moja, Prođi noćas pjacon i kaleton, Zapivaj mi srcon i dišpeton".

In Sukošan, like in many coastal towns, singing has always been a cherished tradition. People would sing in moments of joy and sorrow, with song uniting them for both socialising and work. We are proud that the tradition of Dalmatian klapa singing, renowned globally, is kept alive today by our female klapa, Uzorita. On warm summer evenings, the sound of singing often echoes through the narrow streets of the old village, but true lovers of klapa music can truly indulge in it during the dedicated klapa evenings.

"ISPOD KAMPANELA"

In early July, the traditional klapa evening held in the charming stone courtyard of St. Cassian's Church, right beneath the "kampanel" (bell tower), is guaranteed to captivate all enthusiasts of true klapa music and the local dialect. Experience an unforgettable evening with local klapas, as well as renowned klapas and folk poets, joining together for a memorable performance.
