„On the last day of the Creation God desired to crown His work and thus created Kornati Islands out of tears, stars and breath“ ...
These are words written by George Bernard Shaw and describe in the best way the experience of seeing this unique archipelago which due to its extraordinary beauty was proclaimed a National Park in 1980.
A transparent blue sea which in his depths reveals a magical underwater world rich on biocenosis of the seabed, the wild beauty of the rocks in contrast with the calm hidden bays on over 114 islets and cliffs on some 300 km2 in the silence of untouched nature, represents a true paradise for sailors and divers. We are convinced that you'll take unforgettable memories even from a one-day trip. The National Park Kornati is only 11 nm far from Sukošan and you have the possibility to take a trip to the islands on daily basis.
From the picturesque spring near Knin to the mouth in the Adriatic near Šibenik with only 75 km, the river Krka represents a natural and karst phenomena and it's with all rights called the „Karst beauty“. As the river had to pierce through high cliffs on most parts through rocky terraces on its way to the sea, it created numerous travertine barriers, waterfalls and rapids which every time we see them take our breath away. Although for nature lovers it is a unique experience to follow the flow of the whole river, you shouldn’t by any means miss out the chance to visit the last and the most beautiful waterfall Skradinski buk and the islet Visovac where the Franciscan monastery with a rich library is situated. There are also the monastery Krka and the small, picturesque, antique town Skradin.
The National Park Krka is only 60 km far from Sukošan and you can visit it individually or in organized tours. You can access it from Šibenik and Skradin.
If you a mountain admirer, you won't miss the chance to visit this National Park. It's a place where the mountain dives into the sea. In a clash of Mediterranean and mountain climate, rise the monumental canyons of Velika and Mala Paklenica. Their cliffs are over 440 m high and they made Paklenica a world wide known rock-climbing centre. Endemic plants and numerous animals enrich this primeval ambience.
This is a challenge for all nature lovers: tourists, mountaineers, alpinists, adventurers…
If you want to check it out yourself, it is only 50 km to Paklenica and you can go with your car or in organized groups.
This is the most famous National Park in Croatia and it's considered to be one of the most beautiful sights of Europe. On a small area the most spectacular exchanges of 16 lakes and numerous waterfalls develop, which in their unique beauty are created from the main brooks of the Bijela (White) and Crna (Black) rivers, i.e of the river Matica which emerges of the two rivers, the stream Riječica (Brook) and Plitvice and many small creeks.
In the most part of the water area of the park, occurs a process of extreme importance for the existence of the whole system, the travertine process for which reason this area was declared as the World's natural inheritance by the UNESCO. This process requires many conditions among which clear water, which proves that the Plitvice Lakes can proud themselves with clear water which still hasn't been affected by the urban life of the 21st century and that they still are an inexhaustible source of beauty and strength that water itself represents.

Velebit is Croatia's holy mountain, our symbol whose peeks give home to the good spirit of the Croats. Velebit earned his place in such a spiritual relief of Croatia with its position, appearance and significance in the lives of its people. Mountain lovers will fall in love with it because of its diversity and the proof for its beauty and extraordinary is the fact that there are two National Parks in this area, the National Park Paklenica and North Velebit and the Nature Park.
The area of north Velebit was proclaimed a National Park in 1999 due to the diversity of its Karst phenomena, the richness of its animal world and amazing natural beauties on a relatively small area. The Velebit woods of beech and fir trees are the home to a significant population of wild animals (wolf, bear and lynx). The combination of natural occurrences created different habitats to a great number of Croatian and Velebit endemic species and relicts of flora and fauna. The area of the park is 109 km2, which also includes the two strict reservations „Hajdučki i Rožanski Kukovi“, representing a specific geomorphologic phenomenon where more than 150 caves have been found of which the most famous “Lukina jama” discovered in 1999, as one of the deepest in the world.
The best way to reach the park is from Otočac and Krasno (also a very beautiful excursion site).
